Listen Softly London: Take Stock – A Celebration Of Pen Wielding Women, will take place on Wednesday 19 March at The Crown, Southwark.
The event will feature touring American poet Loren Kleinman, who is performing at the night as part of a UK tour to launch her latest collection The Dark Cave Between My Ribs as well as UK Poetry Slam Champion Sara Hirsch.
Also appearing on the night will be Fran Lock, who’s second collection is being published by Salt Publishing in May 2014, co-creator of She Grrrowls and editor of Poetry & Paint, Carmina Masoliver and writer and performer Ollie O’Neil.
Dominic Stevenson, founder of Listen Softly London, said: “London has some incredible women writing and performing and it’s amazing that this superb blend of established and newer writers and performers are coming together to showcase their talent.
“Each artist was asked to perform because they bring something special to the stage, and in addition, it’s fantastic to have Loren come down and perform as part of her UK tour.”
There will be no entry cost, but there will be a donations bucket with the contributions being given to local children’s charity, The Fostering Network.
You are of course also welcomed, and encouraged, to buy the artist of your choice a drink.
