The first Listen Softly London after the summer break will see the first scratch of UK Slam Champion Sara Hirsch’s debut solo show. Sara will be joined by very special guests, poets Rae Smith, Ella Chappell, James Bunting and storyteller Tom McColl on Monday 22 September at The Crown, Southwark.
Dominic Stevenson, curator of Listen Softly London, said: “I’m thrilled that Sara is performing the first scratch of her show at Listen Softly London. We always endeavour to bring the newest and the best to our stage, and I think we’re succeeding.
“Sara has gone from strength to strength since becoming UK Slam Champion in 2013, and August saw her appear on a range of BBC broadcasts from the Edinburgh festival. Rae and James are both poets who have a real buzz around them, they’re really showing their quality around town at the minute and we’re delighted to have them coming to perform as they continue their upward trajectory.
“Ella too is a superb poet who recently won the Shot Through the Heart poetry film award and Tom has read for, and been published in, many of the top literary journals in the UK.”
The gig will take place at The Crown, Southwark, on Monday 22 September, with doors at 7pm for a prompt 7.30pm start.
Tickets are £3 in advance and £5 on the door.
