What to submit
We believe in using words powerfully.
We need love and riot, hope and fantasy – we need you to submit whatever you believe has the power and ferocity to make positive change in the world.
All submissions should be original and unpublished, though obviously it is okay if individual poems, short stories, or extracts from a novel have been published.
We are happy to accept simultaneous submissions, but if your manuscript is accepted in full elsewhere please do let us know so we can send you a massive high five via email.
We will get back to you within a month of your submission.
Poetry – submit ten to fifteen poems randomly selected from your draft manuscript. Don’t send what you think are your best, send an honest selection. Your full draft manuscript should consist of anywhere between 40-60 poems.

Why submit to Listen Softly London?
We want to share your work and we want to make sure that you’re remunerated for your craft and commitment. We have first-class editors, event-curators and publicity experts supporting us and we will give our upmost to ensure that your voice is widely heard.
What happens if your submission is chosen?
No one in the history of writing, to our knowledge, has ever submitted to a publisher and been printed without working with an editor – so Listen Softly London will support you to work with one of our editors and designers to make your vision a reality.
We do know that having your work edited can make you feel sick to your stomach, so we will support you through the process.
If you would be unhappy with going through an editing process, or do not feel your work needs such scrutiny, then please do not submit to Listen Softly London.
